With 15 years experience in both the public and private sectors, Clare has extensive knowledge of the planning process to assist clients in achieving a positive outcome. Clare gained an honours degree in Geography at the University of Hull in 2000. Whilst working at the London Borough of Bexley as a planner, she studied part time at the University of Westminster and obtained an MA in Town Planning in 2005.
Clare has worked at a number of London Borough Councils including Southwark and Islington. She also worked for five years at a private planning consultancy in Melbourne, Australia where she was promoted to Senior Associate.
Clare’s extensive experience has involved dealing with many Local Authorities and clients. She has worked on a range of schemes including residential developments, mixed use schemes, change of use, schools, householder developments and residential care homes. Clare’s experience includes progressing proposals through the pre-application stage, negotiating with Councils, coordinating consultants, writing planning statements and project managing planning applications. She has dealt with planning appeals, representing both Local Planning Authorities and clients at informal hearings and written representations, S106 and discharge of conditions. She has successfully obtained Certificates of Lawfulness for existing and proposed use developments, including assistance with drafting affidavits and prior approval applications.
