Miriam Volic BSc ARCH, PGDIP CONS (AA)

Miriam has spent most of her professional career in architecture and design as well as conservation and historic buildings in both the public and private sectors in UK and abroad.

From 1989 Miriam worked as a design architect in various London practices. In 1997, Miriam started a collaboration with Heritage Architecture, working on various projects, and soon after she joined the practice as a permanent staff member where she stayed for 11 years gaining position of a Senior Associate responsible for the managing and expanding of the London office.

In 2012, Miriam became independent heritage consultant and has been working as such since.

Miriam’s experience includes involvement with a wide range of services, from providing heritage advice and preparing heritage documents for planning submissions for clients within the public and private sectors including negotiations with local authorities and Historic England Heritage as well as production of schedules of significance, visual impact assessments, architectural drawings and feasibility studies.

Her practical experience of undertaking archival research, recording buildings and undertaking site surveys allows for detailed assessment and interpretation of historic buildings and areas. Her skills in the analysis and assessment of historic buildings and areas, alongside the ability to liaise closely with clients and key stakeholders, allow issues with the historic environment often to be resolved as early as at the pre-application stage.
